We’ll ask you to fill in our medical questionnaire and waiver. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the sessions to make sure you’re ready to start the class on time. Please check our club rules.

For your first class you should bring a tight-fitting t-shirt or rash guard, and some leggings/shorts - if its a Gi class we’ll provide one free of charge for your trial class! We also recommend you bring a water bottle and sliders/flip flops to wear off the mat.

We will start with a short warm-up, followed by some technique and drills. Towards the end of the class, we will do some live training; we’ll show you what this means! You can opt to watch this part of the session, but most people find this the funnest part!

Fundamentals cover core concepts and principles that underpin BJJ, including basic escapes, positions and submissions. All levels is open to higher levels as well as beginners, but is still open to newbies.

You will need to purchase one through our bookings app which you can download at reception or via our website on the memberships page. You will be able to manage your membership and class bookings through this app.

Yes, via our bookings app. If you don’t book for a session you will not be allowed admittance until you have booked via the app. Our terms and conditions outline the use of this app. This is important for our insurance and ensures we can grade our students accurately.

If the member is under 16, they can use your account on their phone - they can sign into the app using your login details.
When signing up your child, use their name and DOB so we can identify them in the system.
If you are an adult member, you can create a profile for your child within your account - no need to create separate accounts.

You can join the waitlist in the app. If someone cancels, you’ll be notified and can take their place.

If you can’t make a class:
Please cancel your booking in the app as soon as possible. This will allow your place to be filled by someone who is on the wait list.
We understand young children can be unpredictable and so we allow cancellations up until the class begins. However, we don’t want anyone to lose out on the chance to train if there is a spot, so we appreciate you cancelling with as much notice as possible.
The app will send you reminders for booked sessions to help avoid missed classes. (See ‘Should I enable reminders’ FAQ)

Our new MAAT app is specifically designed to make bookings and cancellations as easy as possible. In the unlikely event there is a problem, please get in touch via email, phone or in person to let us know you have to cancel.
