At Myriad Jiu Jitsu, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all who train with us. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected from students, instructors, staff, visitors, and anyone representing the academy in any capacity.

Core Values

  • Respect – For instructors, training partners, staff, visitors, and the academy space.

  • Discipline – Consistent attendance, punctuality, and focus on continuous self-improvement.

  • Humility – Recognise that learning never ends; accept wins and losses with grace.

  • Integrity – Always act in a fair and honest manner, on and off the mats.

  • Community – Support and uplift others, contributing to a friendly, inclusive environment.

Student Conduct

All students are expected to:

  • Arrive on time and be ready to train with clean gi or no-gi attire and proper hygiene.

  • Show respect to coaches and fellow students at all times.

  • Follow the instructions of the coaches without argument.

  • Train with control and consideration, ensuring safety for themselves and others.

  • Refrain from using excessive force or dangerous techniques, especially with less experienced partners.

  • Avoid coaching others unless specifically asked by an instructor.

  • Support a culture free from bullying, harassment, discrimination, or intimidation.

  • Help keep the academy clean and organised.

  • Refrain from training under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Instructor & Staff Conduct

Instructors and staff at Myriad Jiu Jitsu will:

  • Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

  • Treat everyone fairly and with respect, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, ability, or background.

  • Lead by example and uphold the highest standards of conduct and professionalism.

  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with students and avoid any behaviour that could be interpreted as inappropriate.

  • Report and address any misconduct or safety concerns promptly and responsibly.

Conduct Outside the Academy

Members of Myriad Jiu Jitsu represent the academy at competitions, events, and in public. Everyone is expected to uphold the values of respect, sportsmanship, and honour in all external settings, including on social media.

Disciplinary Action

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Verbal or written warnings

  • Temporary suspension from training

  • Permanent expulsion from the academy

All incidents will be handled confidentially and fairly by academy leadership.
