“It's time for government to give a live emergency briefing on the climate and nature crisis, introduced by the PM and delivered by independent experts, as an essential step to unlock the wartime-scale response now required.
Our new film, presented by Chris Packham, is screening in communities and workplaces across the UK to raise awareness and build public support for that government-led briefing.
Last November, ten of the UK’s leading experts briefed an invited audience of over 1,200 politicians and leaders from business, culture, faith, sport and the media.
The briefing set out the implications of climate and nature breakdown for health, food systems, national security and the economy.
This screening is a free 50-minute film based on the Westminster briefing is bringing the climate and nature emergency to communities across the UK.”
Myriad will be screening this film on the 6th December. Please bring friends and family and share in your community.
There is a petition to make this screening broadcast nationally. After 100k signatures, the issue is up for parliamentary debate.
“We are writing to Parliament asking for the debate to be prioritised after recess on 1st September. We think the PM should attend, along with the Secretaries of State at Defra and DESNZ - and that it should take place in the main House of Commons debating chamber, reserved for more important debates.
In the meantime, please help show that the public is serious about the need for action by continuing to share the petition. Once the debate date is published, we will need to ensure as many MPs attend as possible.”
